Community Electrification Handbook
We’re excited to launch our new Community Electrification Handbook, designed to help community groups like Electrify 2515 to activate their own community.
Since the fateful community meeting at The Ryan’s Hotel back in 2022 that kicked off Electrify 2515, our community group has achieved and learnt so much. Since then over 100 other communities around the country have started their own Electrify communities with their own local emphasis.
This handbook brings together what we’ve learned in Electrify 2515, as well as other communities from across the Rewiring Australia network and from leading programs around the country. It’s designed to support groups at every stage, whether they’re just getting started or already running advanced programs.
The comprehensive handbook includes:
Practical program models, from awareness-building through to coordinated upgrades
Step-by-step guidance on designing and scaling local initiatives
Proven engagement strategies to move people from interest to action
Tools, templates and case studies from real community programs
At its core, the handbook is about helping groups move beyond awareness and into real outcomes, supporting households to actually make the switch to electric and realise the benefits.
You don’t need to read it cover to cover. Volunteers and organisers can dip into the sections that are most useful for where their group is at, and come back to it as they grow.
This is one of many community resources created to support the growing number of Electric Communities across the country. Find your local community, or start a new one, by visiting the Rewiring Australia website.
You can support the creation of more great resources like this one, and the growth of the Electric Communities network, by giving a one-off or regular donation to Rewiring Australia.
