Getting Started and Quoting
-
You must sign the Terms and Conditions. Once signed, you will receive a welcome email from Brighte with a link to their online portal.
Once you receive access to the Brighte online portal you can start choosing vendors to quote on selected appliances. You can only get access to the subsidies through the Brighte online portal and by using one of the listed accredited vendors.
-
You can access the portal anytime using the links sent to you via email from no-reply@mg.brighte.com.au. You will need to verify your identity using a 4-digit code sent to your mobile phone.
-
It is recommended to request quotes from 2–3 vendors to compare products and pricing, though you may choose just one if you prefer.
Different vendors specialise in certain products, so if you have a particular brand in mind, call us for guidance.
-
Yes, it is recommended that vendors conduct a site visit. They will contact you to arrange a time, but please be patient as installers are currently very busy. Get in touch with us if you haven’t heard from your installer within two weeks.
-
Vendors quote on individual appliances, so you may receive separate emails as each quote is uploaded to the portal. You may also receive a quote directly from the installer from their own quoting system.
-
Vendors will need to upload quotes to the Brighte online portal in order for the job to be eligible for subsidies. You can then select your preferred quotes in the portal and make a “total package”.
Use the green arrow at the top of the page to go “Back to your requests” to see other quotes, or request new quotes. To remove an appliance from your requests (eg. EV charger or battery), please get in contact. We'll delete it so you can proceed and finalise your package.
-
A total package is your final selection of products. You cannot accept your package until at least one quote for every selected appliance has been uploaded, including a smart energy device.
-
To move forward, your package must include all your subsidised appliances plus a smart energy device. If you don’t want to go ahead with an appliance such as solar, battery or an EV charger, contact the team at Rewiring Australia and we will remove this from the portal so you can proceed.
-
Yes. You can purchase a cooktop from any store, but the subsidy will only apply to the installation costs, not the appliance itself. You should coordinate with the installer to ensure the cooktop you are buying will fit your space, and also to ensure they quote for installation only in the Brighte online portal to ensure your subsidies are correctly applied.
-
The subsidy application is built into the Brighte portal process. This step ensures the correct subsidy is applied to each appliance.
You will receive an email from Brighte with a link to begin your subsidy application. It will be approved quickly so installation can proceed.
-
You must verify your ID and income if you are requesting more than $5,000 in subsidies or if you have selected a lower-income bracket for higher subsidies.
Bank statements, payslips, Notice of Assessment and Centrelink cards are all acceptable forms of income verification. Self funded retirees can supply:
Investment/rental income: supply a tax return or Notice of Assessment.
Superannuation income: provide a bank statement (for regular withdrawals) or a super statement (if withdrawing funds).
-
Your subsidy application will be reviewed by Brighte within 48 hours. If any documentation is missing, they may contact you to confirm some details.
Once your subsidy has been approved, the vendor will be notified and can proceed with installation.
-
Once the subsidy is approved and the work is done, you pay the "gap" (the remaining balance) directly to the installer after they issue an invoice.
Research Participation and Spreading the Word
-
Installers should:
Issue electrical and plumbing compliance certificates.
Help you install and learn to use the Smart Energy Device app.
Explain warranty claims and maintenance.
Provide contact info for ongoing service or faults
-
You’ll receive an email from Brighte asking you to confirm that the installations have been completed. It’s important to confirm the installation is complete so that the installer gets paid the subsidy amount by Brighte.
-
Do not confirm completion if you have issues with the quality of work or if appliances are not working. Report problems to the vendor or call the support team on 4216 6032.
-
Once the subsidy is approved and the work is complete, you pay the "gap" (the remaining balance) directly to the installer after they issue an invoice.
-
As part of this research pilot, you’ll now be required to fill out surveys about the journey of electrifying your home. You can also participate in focus group discussions or interviews on an opt-in basis. This feedback will provide insights into customer preferences that will help decision makers support every Australian household on the journey to the smart, electric future.
-
Look out for an email from hi@Electrify 2515.org with a link to your post-install survey.
This is the first of three surveys you are required to complete as part of the pilot.
The three surveys are:
Post-install survey - to be completed shortly after your appliances have been installed, this survey helps us understand how the installation process went and help us identify ways to improve it.
Questionnaire 2 - To be completed 6 months after installation, this survey covers your electricity bills, the smart energy device, and any updates you have for us.
Questionnaire 3 - The final survey, sent 18 months after your install, helps us understand your electrification experience overall.
-
We will be running focus groups to help understand customer decisions and householder behaviour in relation to electrification. If you would like to volunteer to be part of these, please let us know via hi@electrify2515.org
-
Research reports are published on the ARENA website and Electrify 2515 website. At the end of the pilot, we will present the final findings back to the community and participants at a special celebratory event.
Rewiring Australia and Endeavour Energy will also present findings at industry conferences and events.
-
Applications are still open and we are especially looking for homes with gas, apartments and renters. If you would like to help spread the word, consider:
Talking to your neighbours - Invite them over to see your electric home
Help spread the spark - Display a yard sign or bin sticker to show you’re helping to electrify 2515. Let us know you’re keen and we’ll drop them to you.
Volunteer to be a case study - We are always looking for people to be case studies as we regularly receive media requests. If you’re up for it, let us know!
